Novel Reactor System Converts Carbon Dioxide into Usable Fuel

In a new study, investigators from McLean Hospital uncovered both shared and distinct molecular changes across brain regions, genomic layers, cell types, and blood in individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and major depressive disorder (MDD).

A groundbreaking study led by UCLA Health has unveiled the most detailed view of the complex biological mechanisms underlying autism, showing the first link between genetic risk of the disorder to observed cellular and genetic activity across different layers of the brain.

Until now, there has been no drug or approved vaccination to specifically target Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) within the body. Researchers discovered that by infecting and transforming immune cells, EBV causes increased production of an enzyme called IDO1.

Researchers used complex data network models to examine the plexin-B1 pathway’s role in clearing amyloid plaques in the brain. The team found that reactive astrocytes played a major role in the clearing process by controlling the spacing around amyloid plaques.
