From sea to shining sea, scientists have consistently found and reported on the many microplastics polluting Earth’s oceans. Now, researchers have looked skyward—and found the same pollution. Combining years of work from many different projects, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have created a biologic “patch” that is activated by a person’s natural motion. Researchers have developed a more efficient way to discover which new designer drugs are circulating in the community. Chemical engineers at MIT have developed a metal-organic coating to protect bacterial cells from heat damage and freeze-drying. Published to coincide with STEM Day, the new study looked at all 38 OECD member countries and multiple variables, including the number of STEM job vacancies in each country, to complete the ranking. |
