Researchers have successfully transferred components of the human immune system into pigs that lack a functional immune system. While examining the prevalence of listeria in agricultural soil throughout the U.S., food scientists have stumbled upon five previously unknown and novel relatives of the bacteria. Researchers have identified specific influenza targets that could be used to better protect Indigenous people from experiencing severe influenza disease through a universal, T cell-based vaccine. The researchers were able to convert 90% of plastic to jet fuel and other valuable hydrocarbon products within an hour at moderate temperatures and to easily fine-tune the process to create the products that they want.
