The Hugo Sachs Elektronik- Harvard Apparatus IH-SR Isolated Heart perfusion system utilizes a patented flow resistance and compliance chamber to mimic the in vivo cardiac afterload in small rodent models. This feature creates an environment for the heart which more closely resembles the actual resistance of the peripheral vasculature and sets a new standard for isolated heart research. The system allows measurement of a wide range of cardiovascular parameters with unsurpassed fidelity. In the working heart model, none of these is more relevant than the pressure-volume relationship in the left ventricle. The IH-SR integrates a direct pathway providing access to the left ventricle for Millar high fidelity pressure or pressure-volume catheters. Millar catheters and hardware integrate seamlessly with the IH-SR to create a complete cardiovascular physiology solution.
