Automated EPH Fractionation and Cleanup System The Power-Prep EPH from Fluid Management Systems (FMS) performs fractionation and sample cleanup for 30 samples in <1 hr, producing high recoveries and optimal results for aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon content. Fully programmable Windows-based software controls the system and documents the method. With the system, users can expand from one module, which performs five sample fractionations and cleanups, to a six-module system that provides 30 sample fractionations and cleanups.
The system consistently conditions columns, delivers sample to the column fractionates, and cleans up the sample the same way every time for reproducibility. It also increases sample throughput while reducing errors and poor recoveries associated with manual fractionation and cleanup.
Other features include a cleaner background and elimination of contamination. The system uses inexpensive, Teflon-based, prepacked disposable columns that guarantee high recoveries, eliminate the errors and time associated with manual column packing, gravimetric chromatography, and glassware cleanup.
