The Remora plug-n-play adapter from Ocean Optics allows proprietary spectrometers to become Web servers that can exchange data and operation parameters wirelessly.
Users can access the adapter over a Wi-Fi or Ethernet network to capture real-time data and control their spectrometer’s parameters. Compatible with HR4000, HR2000+, and QE65000 spectrometers, the device combines their spectral acquisition and processing power with wireless convenience.
With the adapter’s wireless capabilities, users can remotely carry out a range of data collection and control functions. Through the user interface, researchers can collect data, export spectral data to delimited and graph formats, and change the spectrometer’s acquisition parameters. The device also generates a log file that tracks current and past setups for identifying errors. Researchers can also access and control proprietary spectrometers in a network from other Web-enabled devices.
