Cell viability is increased during cell passaging by keeping cells at an optimal 37 C (+/-1 C) outside of the incubator. This reduces cell stress and allows enzymes like trypsin to work efficiently. Using the warming plate also minimizes the need to repeatedly enter a CO2 incubator, which disrupts the environment inside the chamber, putting stress on all the cells in the incubator. The warming plate has a small footprint of 25.4 x 24.9 x 5.7 cm so it can easily fit in a cell culture hood or on the workbench. A built-in, 15-min countdown timer helps keep track of time-sensitive applications. The UV-resistant polypropylene housing will not break down under germicidal UV lights and the unit is water-resistant and safe for cleaning with Ethanol or IPA.
