Probes Designed for Real-Time Monitoring

The probes connect to spectrometers by means of flexible, articulated optical arms that use only metal mirrors to direct light from the spectrometer to the probe and back. The light path within the arm is enclosed in a purged environment to remove atmospheric interferences in the collected spectra. The arm moves in multiple directions without losing optical alignment to enable the probe to be easily interfaced to reaction vessels in various configurations. Since the probes do not use fiber optics to transport the IR beam between the spectrometer and the ATR element, they allow for a full spectral range and higher optical throughput. The probes are made of 316 stainless steel. Other materials such as Hastelloy are also available. The standard ATR element is diamond, but other materials such as silicon can be substituted if required. The probes are designed for operation at up to 300 C and 1000 psi. They can be interfaced to all standard IR spectrometers. They are available in a single reflection configuration (DP-R-S), a two reflection configuration (DP-R-2) and a multiple reflection version (DP-R-M). Durasens LLC www.durasens.com, 914-747-7205
