The Rocket high-speed evaporation system from Genevac provides an alternative to rotary evaporators for safe and productive drying of natural product extractions. It is demonstrated in a new Web microsite.
Traditionally, rotary evaporators have been widely used for drying natural product extracts. However, the drying process with rotary evaporators is typically slow and prone to cross contamination problems because of solvent bumping and samples that foam. Additionally, after drying, scientists are often left with trying to scrape out their samples from the walls of the rotary evaporator flask.
But the company’s high-speed evaporation system solves all these problems. It can evaporate up to six flasks in parallel, and can dry these directly into a vial, so removing sample is easy.
The system runs automatically and has proven, patented technology that eliminates bumping and foaming, freeing users for tasks more interesting than watching an evaporator. Your productivity is transformed. Adding proprietary SampleGenie technology to the Rocket enables users to concentrate samples directly into a vial, eliminating the need for flask scraping and consequent sample transfer losses.
