Metrohm’s Combustion Ion Chromatograph (CIC) automates the determination of halogens and sulfur in fuels, lubricants, additives, other petroleum products, polymers, flame retardants, textiles, special chemicals, catalysts and waste. Combustion IC complies with new and upcoming environmental requirements and regulations, including ASTM, DIN, EN, IEC, RoHS, WEEE and more. The flame sensor technology measures the intensity of light from the pyrolysis oven during combustion, controls the feed rate of the sample boat and prevents soot formation. Different matrices and sample quantities are automatically combusted by one universal method—prior knowledge about the sample is unnecessary. This method surpasses offline digestion by providing better sample throughput, accuracy and precision. The system’s 2-in-1 autosampler can run both solid and liquid samples by simply changing the sample head.
