Direct-Drive Linear Stage Cog-Free Motion

ANT130-L series stages Offered in two accuracy grades, ANT130-L series stages from Aerotech offer optimal speed, accuracy, resolution, repeatability, reliability and travel range. With their low profile and high performance, the stages are suited for high-accuracy alignment, inspection, positioning and measurement stations.

Features include a center-driven, non-cogging, noncontact linear motor and encoder as the driving element. Because the motor is a direct-drive device, the backlash, windup and “stiction” normally associated with a lead- or ball-screw drive have been eliminated. Providing higher speeds and accelerations, the compact, powerful motor drives the stage to a peak unloaded acceleration of 1 g and a maximum velocity of 350 mm/sec. It also allows the ANT130-L to make precise, small resolution steps, which is important in alignment applications where step accuracy is critical.

Both the linear motor and encoder are noncontact devices, providing a long, maintenance-free life. A moving magnet-track design eliminates the need for cable management. In addition, the stages are easily configured as XY assemblies. Options include precision orthogonality alignment to 5 arc sec as well as vertical axis solutions.
