Numerous advancements are available for the flexible miRCat small RNA cloning system from Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT). The updated, faster kit permits the cloning of small regulatory RNAs (miRNAs, piRNAs and siRNAs) from any cellular source in any species, saving researchers time. The kit now includes Edge Biosystems’ Performa spin columns, which feature a fully hydrated gel matrix and provide a simple method for recovering pure RNA from denaturing PAGE gels. The cloning system is compatible with most existing, relevant laboratory protocols. Based on a pre-activated adenylated oligonucleotide linkering method, the cloning system comprises three sequential protocols: RNA isolation and enrichment, cloning linker attachment, and amplification and cloning. Furthermore, the miRCat-33 option has been developed for performing experiments in which a 5’ ligation-independent step is required. Specific primers are also available to convert the resultant small RNA libraries using Roche/454 life science sequencing systems. Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) Phone: 800-328-2661 www.idtdna.com
