For use with 203-mm-diameter sieves as small as 10 micron, Retsch’s AS 200 Jet ensures gentle particle separation in a short period of time. An industrial vacuum generates a jet of air that evenly disperses the particles via a slotted nozzle. The material that passes through the sieve is either discarded through the vacuum or collected in an attached cyclone. This procedure is gentle on the sample, and average sieving requires only 2 to 3 min. The “open mesh function” reduces the number of near-mesh particles that may otherwise be trapped, providing optimum separation efficiency and reproducibility. Simple to use, the air jet sieve’s quick-start mode allows users to select pre-programmed parameters for push-start operation. Additional features include a wide measuring range of 10 µm to 4.0 mm, memory for nine parameter settings, and an optional automatic vacuum regulation.
