The BR 10 bioreactor from IKA Works has been designed for cultivating cells under optimum conditions. Growing small phototrophic organisms such as algae, moss plants, and many species of bacteria are just a few applications for this system. The standard model includes a 10-L fully jacketed vessel surrounded by a removable lamp shield with six compact double fluorescent lamps. This allows photosynthesis to take place in a controlled environment. The ergonomic base has a simple yet functional control system, which is conveniently located beneath the glass vessel for easy operation in a small foot print. No metal is exposed to the wetted surfaces inside the sealed vessel, making the system suited for instances where bio-reactants are a problem, such as with algae. Manufactured in the U.S., the reactor is delivered with immediate startup and easy-to-assemble parts. Backed by its 3-year warranty, all wetted parts are autoclavable and provide chemical resistance. The system can be customized to fit user-specific applications and is available in vessel sizes up to 100 L.
