This energy-efficient unit maintains fume capture with low face velocity. Available in 4', 5', 6' and 8' widths, the hood directs and maintains a smooth, uniform flow of air into the fume chamber and across the work surface, making the hood suited for delicate procedures and instrumentation. The low profile air by-pass fume hood features restricted by-pass openings, which automatically redistribute air through the fume chamber to minimize fluctuations in face velocity as the sash is raised and lowered. An aerodynamic airfoil and a tapered sash opening also ensure efficient airflow throughout the fume chamber. The airflow baffle features radius entry edges to further reduce turbulence.
