Ceramic Pressure Sensors Detect Age

Ceramic Pressure Sensors Detect AgeME75X Ceramic Pressure Sensor Series from Servoflo Corp. are suited for measuring high pressures in air, harsh or liquid environments. The monolithic piezoresistive ceramic sensors are available in various gauge pressure ranges from 2 to 400 bar. An onboard ASIC provides an amplified and calibrated output. With an operating temperature range of -25 to 125 C, three output options are available: 0.5 to 4.5 V ratiometric, 4 to 20 mA, or 0 to 10 V non-ratiometric. When the temperature changes, the internal electronics provides an offset and span correction, along with aging detection and compensation.

The sensors have high linearity and repeatability ranging from <0.2% to <1.5% depending on the pressure range with an overall accuracy of <1% full-scale. A fast response time of <5 ms combined with chemical resistance allows for use in the most demanding applications. The diameter of the series is 18 mm. EMI certification is included. Typical applications include industrial and process automation, medical, liquid level measurement, consumer goods, transportation and more.

Striving Toward Secondary Goals
Late last month, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stunned most everyone when he declared his promise that "by the end of my second term, we will have the first permanent base on the moon." While I don’t fault Gingrich for dreaming and trying to set high standards and goals, I can’t help but think of the enormous amount of known and unknown variables that significantly deter this accomplishment...continue
