Biocide Kills Contaminates in Fuel SystemsAfter the FQS HY-LiTE test kit is used to determine microbial contamination in fuel systems, the approved Kathon FP 1.5 biocide can be used to kill the contamination. This fast-acting biocide works in 12 to 24 hours and has a treat rate of 1 gallon to 10,000 gallons of fuel (100 ppm). Studies performed have demonstrated Kathon’s high efficiency compared to other biocides. Offering a 100% success rate in the field, the biocide does not cause deleterious effects to equipment and components. It has also been approved by engine and airframe manufacturers.
