High-Temperature GC Columns Eliminate Use of Metal Columns

Category: Gas Chromatography

Zebron Inferno columns have a superior upper temperature limit of 430 C that allows chromatographers to conduct high-temperature GC analysis without having to resort to using a metal column. Two stationary phases are available: Zebron ZB-1HT and the Zebron ZB-5HT. Both columns have a polyimide coating that can withstand higher temperatures than conventional fused silica columns. This allows high-temperature bake outs to remove harmful contaminants that might otherwise decrease the lifetime of the column. Unlike metal columns, which require special tubing cutters and often develop leaks, the Zebron Inferno remains flexible and easy to work with even after prolonged use above 400 C. Its high-temperature stability offers the flexibility of a non-metal column while providing a long lifetime, low bleed and low activity.
