GC Gas Station Generates Hydrogen and Zero Air

Category: Chemicals and Gases

The GC gas station, Model GCGS-7890, generates both hydrogen and zero grade air gas from a single enclosure. The hydrogen can be used as both a GC fuel gas and capillary column carrier gas, and the zero grade air is used as a detector oxidant. The station eliminates three gas cylinders: helium, hydrogen and zero grade air. Because it allows GC users to replace helium cylinders, the unit is also a green solution for the lab because helium is a non-renewable resource of increasing expense and decreasing supply.
