Easy, Automatic Laboratory Control

August 23, 2010

Recognizing the need for laboratories to be able to easily perform routine tasks automatically, Wasson-ECE Instrumentation developed the Automator; a new way to automate your laboratory hardware. The Automator removes human error, increases throughput, gives tighter control of variables and provides a better use of manpower.

It allows the user to easily configure and automate hardware without using a programming language. Runtime tables and logical control are easily set up using the configuration and method design wizards, which reduce development time from days to minutes. The operating system is independent and can also be accessed through the Internet for remote configuration.

Hardware is connected to the automatic system with pre-engineered plug-and-play components that makes hardware interfacing quick and easy. Once configured, the user moves directly to method development. By setting timing, flow, temperature, and voltage, the user gains complete control over the hardware. Method and corresponding hardware configurations can be saved for easy access during later use.

Other features include touch-screen controller interface, temperature, pressure, flow, and voltage control and a simple runtime event table.

While I don’t fault Gingrich for dreaming and trying to set high standards and goals, I can’t help but think of the enormous amount of known and unknown variables that significantly deter this accomplishment...continue
