Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has partnered with Cerno Bioscience to offer Shimadzu’s LCMS quadrupole systems along with Cerno’s MassWorks software so users can improve data calibration for more accurate mass determination. In conjunction with Shimadzu’s LCMSsolution software, the package utilizes Cerno’s patented MSIntegrity calibration technology to improve mass accuracy by up to 100 times, while achieving unparalleled Spectral Accuracy on unit mass resolution mass spectrometers.
With a Shimadzu LCMS system and MassWorks software, researchers can perform accurate compound identification through elemental composition prediction — a capability usually only available on high resolution systems at significantly higher cost. MassWorks significantly improves the quality of data and formula prediction from Shimadzu’s mass spectrometers. Results from unit mass resolution instruments begin to approach predictions from accurate mass instruments. In addition, Spectral Accuracy can be improved up to tenfold for accurate mass instruments as well.
Users can open and process the LCMSsolution data from the native Shimadzu .lcd files from the LCMS-2010, LCMS-2020 and LCMS-IT-TOF instruments through MassWorks and Cerno’s DirectRead technology. This saves time, reduces transcription errors, simplifies file management and saves substantial disk space. As DirectRead does not alter the original data, it assists compliance with common regulatory requirements such as GLP and the FDA’s 21 CFR Part 11.
