Seminar Features Hands-On Instrument Sessions

This year, the Dionex seminar room will be a full-functioning laboratory with hands-on instrument sessions to demonstrate how much more labs can accomplish using analytical solutions that significantly reduce costs, save time, and increase productivity.

The seminar lab will feature complete IC, LC, and Automated Solvent Extraction (ASE) systems. The ICS-2100 will demonstrate detailed ion analysis processes that will change the way users run samples. The ultrahigh pressure UltiMate 3000 Rapid Separation LC (RSLC) system will show how to increase lab productivity significantly. The ASE systems will showcase high-volume and low-volume extraction chambers that can give a lab faster turnaround time.

Dionex will also feature the Chromeleon chromatography data system software.Using Operational Simplicity as its guiding design principle, the system gets results in a short time. The CDS software 6.8 and the recent release Chromeleon 7.0 will be discussed extensively accompanied by hands-on activities. Special attention will be paid to the newest family of detectors from ESA and especially the ESA Charged Aerosol (CAD) series. Examples of real-world separations will be discussed and method speed-up capabilities will be shown. Network configuration options, FDA Regulatory issues and concerns, and custom reporting will be discussed in this session.

Participants can also join Dionex for an instrument demonstration using the AS Autosampler for sample loading and matrix elimination coupled with the ICS-2100. This is the ideal set-up for the determination of anionic impurities in methanol matrices using Reagent-Free Ion Chromatography (RFIC) systems.

Additionally, the seminar will discuss UHPLC solutions. The company will review opportunities for tandem, parallel, and inline solid-phase extraction (SPE) column switching on UHPLC level. The solutions allow boosting sample throughput and streamlining sample preparation for a LC and LC/MS laboratory.

Participants should be prepared to learn how you can apply them the instruments to their lab. All must be registered for the conference to attend the seminar.

Striving Toward Secondary Goals
Late last month, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stunned most everyone when he declared his promise that "by the end of my second term, we will have the first permanent base on the moon."
