Compact Profiling System Offers Axial Chromatism

The Nanovea PS50 compact profiler offers the benefits of axial chromatism in environments where flexibility and easy-to-use operation are required. More versatile than laser systems, axial chromatism provides optimal spatial resolution, measures highly angular surfaces, and eliminates challenges associated with using coherent laser light. Also, it measures challenging materials such as textiles, polymers, black or dark blue materials, or materials of low reflectivity. The apparatus performs fast, non-contact axial chromatism profiling with a vertical measurement range from 20 μm to 27 mm on rough and polished surfaces with no required sample preparation. The optical measuring pens can be interchanged, and a motorized table allows scans up to 50 mm. Users have a choice of Professional Mountains Map 2-D or 3-D software.
