Integrated Optical Microscope Identifies Features to 1.5 microns

The VESTA standalone system provides localized thermal analysis measurements at the micron scale. Uses are in quality control of coatings, studying heterogeneous samples, and in-situ failure analysis applications for researchers in the polymer and pharmaceutical industries. An integrated optical microscope enables users to identify features of interest down to 1.5 microns. Users can click on any feature in the image to perform localized thermo-mechanical analysis using customized heated probes. The system enables materials characterization through studying glass transition and melting temperatures of only the identified feature while the rest of the sample is untouched.
