Automated Pipetting System Features Programmable, Multiprobe Head
The pipette automation system includes Maxon motors, encoders and encoder feedback to assure smooth, servo-controlled displacement motion and recirculating linear bearings. An ultra-compact, programmable displacement head features 9-mm probe centers and strokes up to 125 mm. A helical rack and pinion is employed with the drive motor parallel to the rack’s major axis. This design reduces head size and part count to extend the reliability and life of the system. Other pipette-head configurations, such as incorporating probe adapters, can be custom built. In addition, the resolution is governed by the reduction gear ratio and rotary-encoder line count to adjust easily for unmatched performance in speed, smoothness and resolution.
