Super Nose Detects Compounds Down to Single-Digit Parts per Billion
The Voice 100 super nose can analyse air at the push of a button and detect tiny amounts of compounds down to single-digit parts per billion. Originally developed to determine the chemical composition of interstellar gas clouds, the instrument instantaneously detects everything from asthma to fumigants in cargo containers to the volatile gases generated by triacetone triperoxide (TATP). The technology of selective ion flow tube mass spectrometry (SIFT-MS) is used to alert the operator to the presence of VOCs. The chemicals present in the sample are quantified to eliminate the possibility of false positives from non-offensive substances with a similar chemical base. The unit sucks in a sample of air via a wand and instantaneously delivers an accurate reading down to single-digit parts per billion. The lab-grade data is provided in real time with no preparation.
