Magnetic Bead Alternative to Chromatography Columns
Together with the Dynabeads WCX and Dynabeads RPC Protein, the Dynabeads RPC 18 magnetic beads offer an alternative to chromatography columns, spin columns and pipette tips sample preparation technologies. Based on reversed phase chromatography (RPC) or weak cation exchange (WCX), the beads can fractionate mixed protein and peptide samples quickly and easily for downstream analysis such as mass spectrometry. They feature an optimized surface for the binding of intricate peptide mixtures with possible downstream fractionation. The magnetic separation methodology is highly reproducible, flexible, and scalable and can be automated on a variety of liquid handling platforms. The magnetic bead chromatography product range helps reduce sample complexity. The three products can be used to concentrate, prepare and desalt complex protein and peptide mixtures. All beads provide uniform spheres with even magnetic properties and maximum surface area. They remain dispersed in solution but quickly move in response to a magnetic field, with no magnetic remanence. The different beads available accommodate various surface chemistries and have been developed in a number of different sizes to suit different proteomic, genomic and in vitro diagnostic applications.
