Mass Spectrometer for Direct Elemental Analysis

The Finnigan ELEMENT Glow Discharge (GD) mass spectrometer is for the high throughput and routine analysis of elemental determinations in high-purity metals. The instrument, simple and straight forward in operation, ensures rapid and accurate sample analysis. A glow discharge ion source is combined with a sector field high-resolution mass spectrometer (GD-MS), assuring ultimate high-throughput performance in the direct elemental analysis of solids. The instrument achieves the elemental determination of more than 60 elements per sample, from matrix to ultra-trace, with a throughput of more than five samples per hour. This means that most of the periodic table can be simultaneously determined in high purity metals such as Copper (Cu), Aluminum (Al), Tantalum (Ta) and other conductive samples.
