Injection Port Septa Eliminate Coring

The Cepure Zero injection port septum features a molded O-ring design, with the aperture squeezed closed, and is an alternative to a solid membrane that gets pierced in every cycle. In operation, the needle displaces—but never pierces—the septum material to access a sample. As the needle withdraws, the aperture recloses. Molded of low-bleed silicone gum with minimal siloxane content, the O-ring style septum eliminates contamination from both coring by the needle and outgassing, and also withstands 1000 injections in tests at 400 C. They come preconditioned and ready to use, in 9-mm and 11-mm standard sizes. They also come packaged in EPA pre-cleaned jars with a PTFE-lined closure. Extraction packets are included in the jars to further reduce potential contamination.
