Side Snap Non-Luer Connectors Reduce Connection Errors
Safety side snap non-luer connectors help to reduce connection errors, providing manufacturers with off-the-shelf options to deter connection mistakes rather than tooling their own parts. These stock components are available in a choice of acetal and polypropylene with either a Buna-N or EPDM O-rings. The connectors fit 5/32 inches ID tubing and will not mate to standard luers. Also, they have a 5-psi pressure rating. To connect, push the two sides together. To disconnect, apply force in the middle of the connection. A popping sound occurs to let the user know the line is disconnected. Because they resist axial force, the connectors permit the tubing to be tugged without disconnecting.
