Method for Testing Total Viable Counts in Water

For use with the Quanti-Disc test, the Quanti-Disc reader is suited for testing total viable counts (TVC) in water. This easy, rapid method produces results that correlate with the International Standard ISO 6222 Yeast Extract Agar pour plate method. With automated reading and recording of results, the device eliminates any subjective result interpretations and allows labs to read more samples in a short amount of time. It also improves accuracy by enabling sample bar coding, recording, and storage of test results and by enabling integration into a LIMS. Used to monitor bacterial growth trends in water samples, the ready-to-use test streamlines laboratory workflow by eliminating the need for agar preparation, glassware and autoclaves. Running it involves only three steps—pipetting, incubation and reading—and requires less than 15 seconds of hands-on time.
