WedgeLink Upgrade Features Expanded Data Parsing

Booth 4198. The WedgeLink software keyboard wedge includes DDE and expanded parsing features. DDE is a faster and more efficient way to pass large amounts of data to an application than through the keyboard input stream, with which the application must have the focus. With DDE, the user can run other applications while collecting data into Excel or other Windows applications that support DDE. The expanded data parsing capabilities allow users to handle more complex input data that is received from a device. Software keyboard wedges are used in data acquisition applications, such as statistical programs, spreadsheets, barcode and LIMS. They also provide more flexibility in the formatting of data for presentation to the application. In addition to transferring information to the application, they can simultaneously send information to a disk file or to the serial port. Input data is accepted from an RS232 serial port or network connections, and is then passed to a Windows application in such a manner that the application thinks the data is actually coming from the keyboard. Three different editions are available: Lite, Standard and Network, depending upon the user’s input sources, data parsing requirements and output targets.
