Online and Stand-Alone Leak Detectors
LeakMatic inline and LeakPointer stand-alone non-destructive package leak detectors quickly and accurately monitor packages to provide water-free leak test of shipping cases and/or individual boxes containing meat, pasta, bread, cheese, OTC pharmaceuticals, and other products packaged in paperboard, film, foil, or cans. This non-destructive sensor uses trace CO2 gas to detect the leak. Some of the carbon dioxide gas in the package will leak out into the test-measuring chamber, activating the sensor to sound an alarm indicating the leak. LeakMatic monitors 100% of packaging line output. During operation, the case or box enters the conveyor into the package test chamber. An optical sensor controls operation of the preprogrammed vacuum chamber. Approved product is directed from the conveyor to the stockpile or shipping lane, and a new carton/box is fed into the chamber. Light and alarm signals are activated when a leak is detected, and the defective carton/box is pushed away from the conveyor as it is discharged from the test chamber. User-friendly graphic icons control up to 16 different test programs from a touch screen that provides variable selections including leak and vacuum level, product name, and the production line address. Test data can be printed with time and date, or transferred to a PC for quality control verification and archiving.
