Headspace Sampling System Allows Low Detection Limits for Volatile Compounds

The TurboMatrix headspace sampling system incorporates a built-in trap option, which offers a higher level of performance compared to conventional headspace or purge-and-trap sampling systems. The system uses a sample trapping approach that extracts analytes from water and other sample matrices and injects them into the gas chromatograph. It is able to maintain consistent temperature, pressure, and flow conditions from sample to sample to ensure accuracy. The incorporation of a dry purge, which efficiently removes water, maximizes system performance. Applications can be found in labs such as those dealing with environmental contaminants in water and soil samples, forensics for volatile compounds at the lowest possible detection levels, or pharmaceuticals and food packaging where frequent QC batch testing is necessary.
