Chiral Stationary Phases for HPLC Incorporate Zirconia

Booth 2214. Five chiral stationary phases (CSPs), suited for analytical and preparative-scale HPLC, incorporate the chemical and mechanical stability of zirconia with the flexibility of Lewis acid/base anchored chiral selectors. Zirconia features many properties for HPLC, including spherical particle shape and narrow size distribution. Additionally, it exhibits high chemical and mechanical stability. The synthesis of the chiral phases capitalizes on the presence of Lewis acid (Zr+4) sites on the surface of the zirconia to provide a more robust and chemically flexible platform for CSP design.
