LC/MS System Features HPLC-Chip
Booth 1618. The HPLC-chip/MS system is a complete commercial LC/MS system based on microfluidic technology. The centerpiece of the system is the HPLC chip. Smaller than a credit card, the polymeric chip replaces the traditional column in a nanoflow LC/MS setup. It seamlessly integrates the sample enrichment and separation capability of an LC with the intricate connections and spray tips used in electrospray mass spectrometry. The chip eliminates 50% of the traditional fittings and connections typically required in LC/MS, reducing the possibility of leaks and dead volumes. The HPLC chips can be manufactured to incorporate internal columns up to 1.5 cm in length and any commercially available packing material used for chromatographic separations. It is inserted into the HPLC-chip/MS interface, which mounts on a proprietary ion trap or TOF mass spectrometer. Replacement of the chip is quick and simple. HPLC-chip/MS components are available as a module that is fully compatible with the proprietary 1100 Series LC, ion trap MS and TOF-MS systems.
