Condensation Particle Counter Facilitates Air-Quality Research
The Model 3785 Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) uses water, an odor-free, nontoxic, non-contaminating condensing fluid, to enlarge submicrometer particles for easy measurement. It is especially useful in indoor and outdoor air-quality research, filter testing, atmospheric and climate studies, combustion and engine-exhaust studies, and other aerosol research. With sensitivity to particles in the range from 10 nm to more than 3 μm in diameter, the Model 3785 offers performance comparable to other condensation devices. It employs a continuous laminar flow for quick response to fast-changing aerosols and accurate pressure-corrected flow control. Photometric and single-particle-counting detection modes offer continuous "live-time" coincidence correction and results in a wide dynamic range. Real-time particle concentration, totalizer function, and operating parameters, as well as a graph of concentration vs. time, are all viewable on the front-panel display.
