Compact Plunge Freezer and Controlling System

The EMS 002 performs cryofixation of biological as well as material science samples. Integrated into a single unit, the plunging and controlling system allows for the introduction of common cryogens. It easily transfers frozen sample directly into the TEM using the unique Cryo Transfer System. Applications include cryofixation of virus particles, isolated or assembled macromolecules, liposomes, emulsions, paints, polymers, and suspensions and tissues for cryopreparation techniques such as freeze fracture/etch, freeze-drying, freeze substitution, cryoSEM, and cryoTEM. The freezer is available with a metal mirror kit for impact freezing samples, adaptors for cryotransfer units, and freeze substitution modules.
