Combined Instrumentation Achieves Reproducible Absolute Particle Sizing

The proprietary Eclipse and the DAWN EOS instruments make absolute particle sizing an accessible alternative to traditional liquid chromatography methods. The DAWN EOS is a multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detector capable of determining radius and molar mass results simultaneously, and is able to calculate masses directly from the variation of the light scattering pattern. The Eclipse particle fractionation device produces high quality, yet gentle, particle and molecular separation for samples in the sub-micrometer range via a Field-Flow-Fractionation (FFF) channel. By integrating the Eclipse Field Flow Fractionation with the DAWN Multi-Angle Light Scattering detection, reproducible absolute particle sizing can be achieved without the need for calibration or sizing standards. Resolution is increased to equal that of ultracentrifugation.
