Bioethanol Analysis Time Cut in Half

The Zebron ZB-Bioethanol column is suited for biofuel analysis via gas chromatography. The GC column meets the needs of bioethanol producers who must document the concentration of methanol and denaturant in fuel ethanol before leaving the plant. The 30-m column produces these results less than 15 min, which is less than half the time required with 100-m columns. A 15-m option cuts the time to ?10 min. The columns are also temperature stable to 360 C. This advantage combined with the fast separation time means corrosion inhibitor buildup, which is present in the gasoline used as a denaturant, can be baked off between runs in less than 5 minutes for consistent run-to-run results.
