90A-pore HPLC Column Designed for Peptide Maps
The Jupiter Proteo 90Å-pore HPLC column is specifically designed to improve the analysis of complicated peptide maps compared with traditional 300Å columns. Peptide fragments produced in a tryptic digest of a protein often exhibit significantly complex patterns, differing markedly from protein to protein. The resulting "fingerprint" or "map" is used to characterize a given protein, or to identify oxidation or deamidation / deamination byproducts. The inert nature of the Jupiter Proteo silica, combined with a range of pH stability from 1.5 to 10, provide for the necessary selectivity and high resolution of both charged and neutral fragments as well as hydrophobic and hydrophilic fragments on the same column. Advantages include large improvements in peak efficiency and symmetry, less dependence on TFA, as well as a 40-60% increase in peak capacity.
