Moisture Analysis in Plastics
ASTM has adopted a fast and cost effective alternative to titration methods, the D6980-04 "Standard Test Method for Determination of Moisture in Plastics by Loss in Weight." Loss-in-weight technology has many advantages over traditional titration methods, making it a suitable choice for those who want to make quality products as efficiently as possible. Loss-in-weight instruments, such as the Computrac MAX, are durable enough for the production floor yet versatile enough for the laboratory. They require very little training to use accurately; even an inexperienced operator produces reliable results. In addition, loss-in-weight instruments have low average costs per test and require minimal maintenance.
