Sample Concentrator Employs Infrared Sample Heater

Booth 4655. The Eclipse 4660 purge-and-trap sample concentrator processes samples for GC-GC-MS analysis of volatile organic compounds in drinking water, groundwater, industrial effluents, soils and other sample matrices. A cyclone water management system allows analysis of polar compounds such as alcohols, ethers and ketones without interference from water. The Infra-Sparge infrared sample heater option heats samples during the purge step to improve purge efficiencies and compound recoveries and to reduce cycle time. Heating samples to 40 C during the purge step allows purge time to be reduced from 11 to 7 minutes without compromising analytical performance. Reducing P&T cycle time by 4 minutes per sample improves sample throughput, permitting up to nine additional samples to be run in a 12-hour GC-MS tune period.
