LALS Technique
directly measures molecular weight
The Low Angle Light Scattering (LALS) detector surpasses traditional technologies and operates at an angle of 7 degrees. Unlike multi-angle light scattering techniques, this system directly measures molecular weight for a large range of synthetic polymers, natural polymers and proteins. The new LALS is a significant enhancement to the proprietary Triple Detector Array (TDA). It employs a concentration detector, patented 4-capillary viscometer and a light scattering detector acting in concert, with each detector providing different but complimentary information. The TDA with LALS allows for direct determination of molecular weight, molecular size, density and conformation, and provides structural information on branching and aggregation.
