FCS and FLIM Extensions for Analytical Biology Applications
Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) is a method to measure concentration and diffusion rates quantitatively down to the single molecule level. The company's FCS is a sensitive, cross-correlation detection and analysis system that couples with the external port of the Spectral Confocal Microscope, and assures alignment-free registration of the FCS measurement spot in the confocal image, which is a precondition for meaningful results. Also introduced is the Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM), a tool to measure ion concentrations, intracellular signal transduction, Fluorescence Resonant Energy Transfer (FRET), membrane potential, and more using time-correlated single- photon counting technology. The method is available as a D FLIM system using a pulsed 405-nm diode laser, or as an MP FLIM system using multiphoton excitation laser as the excitation source and time reference.
