ELS Detector Features Extremely Large Detection Range

The PREPELS II evaporative light scattering detector features the same detection performance as the original model; however, the internal components have been optimized, decreasing the overall footprint. Thermo-Split technology enables selective optimization of split ratios for isocratic and gradient conditions. A low-gain setting is used for milligram samples and a normal-gain setting for nanogram to microgram samples, offering a full range of signal detection. Suited for obtaining pure fractions, the detector can detect analytes with or without a chromophore, including compounds that have poor UV absorption, such as sugars, carbohydrates, lipids and triglycerides. Furthermore, it can be integrated into a system using a proprietary 15X detector, providing a mode of detection and selective determination of compounds not seen with UV detection alone.
