Microcentrifuge Rotor Spins up to 13,000 rpm

Booth 4817.A new rotor for the high-performance SORVALL Pico and Fresco Microcentrifuges allows processing of PCR strips and individual PCR tubes. The PCR strip rotor is equipped with an aerosol-tight, Easy-Twist-On biocontainment lid for ease of use and safe centrifugation, and accommodates 4 × 8 standard PCR strips or up to 32 × 0.2 mL individual PCR tubes. The Easy-Twist-On lid can also be used with standard rotors for the Pico and Fresco. Capable of spinning 24 1.5- or 2-mL tubes at speeds of up to 13,000 rpm (16,060 x g), the SORVALL Pico is an ultra-compact microcentrifuge. With a footprint measuring 9 × 13 inches, it features a load-relief lid and an ergonomic lid grip for easy access to the rotor. A whisper-quiet brushless induction motor accelerates samples to maximum speed in a few seconds. The Pico's refrigerated counterpart is the compact and quiet SORVALL Fresco, which also accommodates 1.5- or 2-mL tubes in a 24-place rotor. Standstill cooling protects samples from freezing, while the CFC-free refrigeration system maintains constant temperatures of 0 to 4 C even during extended centrifugation.
