Bulk Chiral Chromatography Phase for Large Scale Separations
A new class of chiral stationary phases (CSPs) was designed to improve the productivity of Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) manufacturing processes for single enantiomer pharmaceuticals. The first product, twenty micron (20μ) CHIRALPAK IA, offers broader solvent choices while maintaining the high loading capacity and selectivity of the widely used coated polysaccharides.
The immobilized polysaccharide offers the combination of high selectivity and loading capacity coupled with solubility characteristics that offer the potential for higher productivity values in an SMB system.
