Respiratory Quotient Process Mass Spectrometer

Booth 4152. The PAT-compatible ProLine Respiratory Quotient (RQ) process mass spectrometer provides continuous measurement of bioreactor off gases, including O2, CO2, N2, Ar and alcohols, as well as contaminants, providing a specific method for determining when to stop or continue the fermentation of a microorganism culture. RQ is quickly determined by analyzing the composition of reactor off-gas, particularly residual O2 and CO2 concentrations. The device comes with a sub-atmospheric sampling system, automatic valve switching, pumping station, and room for added inlets and outlets. A single device is able to analyze multiple components, sample up to 16 streams, and monitor and control several reactors at the same time. Typical sample flow rates allow the instrument to be used with a range of reactor sizes from large-scale production to micro-liter bench-scale processes. Features include good mass resolution, least cost-per-sample point, flexible design, user-defined data presentation, high sample rate and data throughput. It occupies less than 3.5 cu. ft. of bench space and has a range of I/O options, guaranteeing easy access to and transfer of data into existing lab control systems.
