Analyzer Measures Trace Amounts of Nitrogen in Helium
The Series 1300 analyzer measures trace amounts of nitrogen in helium. Models 1300-A and 1300-B cover different analytical ranges of 0-2/0-20 ppm and 0-20/0-200 ppm, respectively. Detection is based on the spectral emission of helium plasma. A high signal gain and improved noise rejection guarantee a sensitivity of 10 ppb for nitrogen. The economical and rugged analyzer is low maintenance and simple to operate. Valves, carrier gas and a radioactive source have been eliminated. Features include online, continuous trending of nitrogen concentration with no need for sample injection or separation columns. Exposure to the atmosphere or high impurity concentrations do not result in damage to the analytical cell. The detector design enhances rapid recovery, and over-range protection eliminates the possibility of false readings caused by high impurity plasma quenching. A non-depleting cell for extended operation provides long life and is maintenance-free. Applications include helium purification plants, cryogenic truck loading stations, specialty gas laboratories and process control.
